Art Club

1. Introduction to Art Club

In our art program, we select the top 20 artistically inclined students per school through a drawing test. We provide art kits to each student as part of induction into the program. The art teacher conducts one class every week; covering the following modules through the school year: sketching and shading, charcoal, still life, water colors and acrylics, landscapes and portraits. All students maintain their own art portfolio which is graded at the end of each module by the art teacher. We take the students on 2 school trips per year to “encounter with nature” and to the art museum in Mysore. The best art students are “commissioned” to paint murals in the schools they study in. We also send our best art students to art competitions in nearby cities such as Mysore and Bangalore.

3. Student Expectations

(a) Create folders: Before you start the year, create a folder on the desktop with your name. If you name is Ramesh Gowda, name the folder as “Ramesh Gowda”. Then create a sub-folder under this folder for each club you participate in. For Art Club, call this sub-folder “Art Club“. You will also need to maintain a sketch book of all the art work drawn by you for each lesson. Please ask the program coordinator to provide you an empty sketch book at the beginning of the year. Your program coordinator will also give you pain brushes and color paints/pencils at the beginning of year.

(b) Read and use the timetable: Through the year, you should follow the timetable shown below. You should also also download the timetable by clicking on the link in the next section and save it on your desktop under the sub-folder “Art Club“. You should track this table on a weekly basis on your desktop as you complete the lessons one by one as per the timetable.

The timetable will tell you when you should go through each lesson (by week number starting from week 1) and how much time you have to go through the materials and submit the assignments for each lesson.

The year is made up of 40 weeks with a four week holiday for Diwali. In each week, you are expected to spend one hour going through the lesson material.

(c) Go through the lesson contents and get initial materials: Each lesson in the Art club has a story and activities linked to a specific MLL. The lesson page will have the following sections that you should go through following the instructions below:

Main Lesson Video – You should watch the video in this section in which our Art club teacher conducts the lesson showing you the techniques in doing the art work
Student Sample Submissions: In this section, you can see sample art work by our students related to this lesson

Assignments – In the section, you should click on the links provided to download the art work (created by our teacher) that you are supposed to do for this lesson (there could be multiple art work). Make sure to save the assignment art work in the sub-folder “Art Club” on your desktop.

(c) Perform activities and do the assignments

First go through all the materials related to the lesson on the lesson page (text, videos and links as define above) . This will take one hour of your time.
Then download the assignments (art work done by our teacher related to this lesson) and save them on your desktop under the “Art Club” sub-folder
If you need any materials to do the art work (if you run out of materials provided to you at beginning of the year), please ask the program coordinator for these materials.
Then do the art work for all assignments related to this lesson in your sketch. If you have been given multiple assignments, do as many as possible. You are then expected to spend at least 2-3 hours during the week doing the assignments. Once you have perfected your art work, take a scan image of the art work (one per assignment) using the webcam provided with the desktop as save them in JPEG format on your desktop under sub-folder “Art Club” with the name art_club_lesson_number_assignment_number. For example, for lesson 1 assignment 1, you should name it as art_club_lesson_1_assignment_1. For lesson 1 assignment 2, you should name it as art_club_lesson_1_assignment_2.

(d) Upload completed assignments: After you complete the assignments, you should upload the saved files using the link “Manage Assignments and View Performance” — > “Art Club” in the main “Student Journey” page:

The scanned image of the assignments (with file name art_club_lesson_number_assignment_number.jpeg). Make sure you provide the Taluk name, HPS name and Lesson Number (to which the assignment belongs to) when you upload the file.

(e) Update timetable: After you upload the assignments, make sure to update the timetable on your desktop under the folder “Art Club” by changing the green color of the lesson to brown. Now it is time for you to go to the next lesson online.

(ಬಿ) ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯಂತೆ ಕಲಿಯುವುದು:

ವರ್ಷವಿಡೀ, ಕೆಳಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿರುವ ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯಂತೆ ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕು. ಮುಂದಿನ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿನ ಲಿಂಕ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕ್ಲಿಕ್ ಮಾಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀವು ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಡೌನ್‌ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು “ಆರ್ಟ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್“ ಎಂಬ ಉಪ-ಫೋಲ್ಡರ್ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಡೆಸ್ಕ್‌ಟಾಪ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಸಿ(ಸೇವ್) ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ವಾರಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಡೆಸ್ಕ್‌ಟಾಪ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಟೇಬಲ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾದ ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯು ಯಾವಾಗ ನೀವು ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದರಂತೆ ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಲಿಯುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ(ಸ್ಕೆಚ್, ಬ್ರಸ್, ಬಣ್ಣಗಳು) ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕು. ಬಿಡಿಸಿದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಟ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ವಾರಗಳ ದಸರಾ ರಜೆ/ದೀಪಾವಳಿ ರಜೆಗಳು ದೊರೆಯಬಹುದು. ಈ ರಜೆಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 40 ವಾರಗಳು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಮಯ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ವಾರ ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆ ಅವಧಿಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ.

(ಸಿ) ಪಾಠದ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೋಗಿ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಿರಿ:

ಆರ್ಟ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪಾಠವು ಒಂದು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಪಾಠಗಳು ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನೀವು ಕಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಬೇಕು.
